Fire Brigade Organized

One of the conditions of the Memorandum of Agreement re Donation of Firetruck to the City Government is the organization of a Volunteer Fire Brigade. In preparation for the signing of this MOA, we are inviting all able-bodied and civic minded Tsinoys to join this worthwhile endeavor.

We need volunteers who are dedicated, who will respond to a call no matter what they may be doing at the time of need. We hope we can encourage our own group of volunteers to be as dedicated as the ones in Binondo. When a fire call is sounded they all respond, even in their office wear. They just
change into fireman's uniform while riding on the firetruck.

The reputation of the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Metro Manila is so good that they have received awards and recognition from various institutions, government and private. We hope to match their enthusiasm and dedication. Not so much because the name of the organization or the Chamber is at stake, but the whole Fil-Chinese community.
